The Shillim Foundation hosts annual residencies to promote collaboration between artists and conservationists. The programs, titled Wild By Design, bring together artists, scientists, economists, and designers around a specific landscape in order to:
- Produce works of art that engage the landscape
- To reframe the relationship between the arts and conservation
- To create blueprints that integrate ecology, culture, and economics for conserving/developing wild places
Artists and conservationists will work side by side, to produce a cross-pollination of ideas, practices, methods, and processes. The works that emerge during the Foundation programs will come to life in performances, exhibitions, books, manuals, and interactive media.
